WordPress Plugin : Multipage Toolkit 2.6

Installation

Copy plugin directory to your plugin folder ( /wp-content/plugins)

Activate plugin in the admin panel

Useage Instructions

Creating multipage posts…

While writing a new post you can create page breaks by clicking on the next page button in the visual editor toolbar.

To insert and use page titles, use the page title button on the same toolbar. Remember the first page also need a title. I normally add page titles at the same place as page breaks.

The page title uses a popup box to enter the title. The editor will show a dotted line with a small page title icon where the page title was inserted.

To see what the page title is just hover your mouse over the line or icon.

To edit the page title, select the page title by clicking on the page title icon and then click on the page title button in the toolbar – a popup box will appear with the existing title ready for editing.

Auto Insert Options Page

In the admin panel under settings you will find the Multipage Toolkit Options page.

This page controls how you navigation links will appear on your posts. There is two instances, which means you can have two different types of navigation methods. Each instance can be inserted in to the top, bottom, or top & bottom of the page.

Default settings are :-

First instance is a drop down menu navigation with previous/next links.

Second instance is a quickjump using page numbers.

To activate auto insertion you need to select the insert checkboxes.

Once you have adjusted the settings remember to click on Update. You can also return to the defaults settings at anytime by clicking on the Restore to Defaults button.

Priority

At the bottom of the options page you will find the auto insert priority box. You can use this to adjust where the multipage toolkit is inserted in relation to other plugins.

This is useful where for example you may have a related posts plugin and you would like to have your navigation appear before the related posts. So you can adjust the plugin priority till the inserted stuff is in the right order.

Hi Tarkan – one more issue with the latest version of wordpress – we constantly have to deactivate and then reactivate the plugin in order for it to work correctly with new posts. Otherwise the page links will link to another page. Any tips on how to correct this? Thanks.

Yes I am aware of this problem – it is because the latest wordpress version has moved to TinyCME 4, and sadly I have got so many projects going on at the moment, I have not had the time to get my head around all the changes and the necessary updates.

Stef, great find – will test it on my site as well.

Actually I solved my own problem. For anyone that upgrades to the latest version of wordpress but is still having trouble with pagetitle button not working in tinymce, copy the file tiny_mce_popup.js from the main install and overwrite the one in \wp-content\plugins\multi-page-toolkit\buttons\js\ and it will fix the issue.

Hi Tarkan, been using your plugin for a long time! Just upgraded wordpress to 3.9.1 and TinyMCE is having an issue with the insert pagetitle button. The next page button works fine, but insert pagetitle brings up the following errors when the pagetitle dialog opens:

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘mce_inline’ of undefined /wp-content/plugins/multi-page-toolkit/buttons/js/tiny_mce_popup.js:47
Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘plugin_url’ of undefined wp-content/plugins/multi-page-toolkit/buttons/js/tiny_mce_popup.js:47

And this error when the insert button on the dialog is clicked

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘insert’ of undefined dialog.htm:15

    Can you please help, thanks!

Hi, I will send you the beta – I do hope to push an update on WordPress, but I am kind of stuck on the best way to hook in to wordpress, while it does work and works well I think it can work better.
